'Blessed are the cheese makers.' -Monty Python
John Cleese (Cheese)

I've always been a great fan of the famed British comedy group Monty Python. Their Cheese Shop sketch is especially endearing. So when I started this little cheese supply online business and being the silly little chap that I am, I wanted to incorporate my love of cheese and comedy. A fellow cheese maker (customer) orginally from the UK brought to my attention that John Cleese (Monty Python), true name is actually John Cheese. And that John Cleese took so much ribbing from his school mates that he changed his name to Cleese. If anyone of you out there know more about this, please write me. Below is some information from the Wikipedia search result on John Cleese (Cheese). -Steve Shapson

Cleese was born in Weston-super-Mare, Somerset, England, the son of Muriel (née Cross), an acrobat, and Reginald Francis Cleese, who worked in insurance sales. His family's surname was previously "Cheese", but his father changed his surname to "Cleese" in 1915, upon joining the army.-reprinted from Wikipedia
